There are 6 things you need to know that are NEW this year. Sorta new. Just read it, ok?

1. WHO - Name and phone# must be on the back of each work. If you want your name displayed on the front, (and who wouldn't?), attach a card with your full name in small but very legible text in the lower right corner. For sculpture, tape a card to the bottom and we will set it by the work.
2. WHAT - You can enter one or two works per student, but not more, because we could have 200 works of art as it is.
   You may enter ANYTHING you have done this school year, and while attending a class at Firstlight. It's ok if you created it elsewhere: home or school. It can be sculpture or flat art.
3. HOW - Artwork must be matted or framed. If framed, it must have a means to hang from a hook or nail. That means there must be a wire securely fastened across the back or at least some kind of hardware hanging device installed on the back at the top.
   Mats are those nice colored or white cardboard frame liners with the window cut out. MATS MUST HAVE A STIFF BACKING AND BE SECURELY TAPED SO THAT THEY DO NOT FALL APART DURING THE SHOW. Frames are much preferred, but mats will work for a few of the pieces submitted. It would be best if the mat has a hook or attached hanging device on the back too.
4. WHY NOT - Volunteer to help on the signup sheet at the classroom.
5. WHERE - Artwork may be dropped off at the studio the week beginning May 16th, and are due no later than Friday, May 27th at 6:00 PM. Super-late entries will be accepted Thursday afternoon June 2nd from 2-5, but you may be subject to disapproving glances and uncomfortable feelings of guilt unless you also volunteer to help :D
6. WHEN - Artwork should be picked up either after the show on Saturday night at 8:00 pm or you can pick it up the next week anytime during our Summer ART Buffet hours (Tu - Fr 1-3 pm) or Saturday mornings during ARTPark.
   (Art not picked up before the end of June may be subject to storage and damage is possible as we do not have enough storage to take care of framed materials.)
